Mayflower 400

A phenomenal anniversary is approaching as England marks the 400 years since the ‘Mayflower’ ship set sail for the new land of America. Onboard, were the Separatists’, a breakaway group from the established church who risked religious persecution if caught. Relive the drama as the ‘Pilgrim Fathers’ made their way from their villages, here the seeds of thought were sown in secret, to the shipbuilding south. This tour touches on areas not usually promoted within coach touring programmes with village visits in Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire where the roots of the moment are found. Explore Boston and Harwich and a totally different side of London on the river banks of Rotherhithe. These off-the-beaten-track destinations have had huge investment to bring this story to a global audience – a stand-out heritage tour for 2020 and beyond.
