This tour programme centres on the classic Austrian alpine touring region around Kitzbuhel and the Krimml Waterfalls. This region encapsulates all for which Alpine Austria is renowned, from crystal clear lakes, soaring peaks and wooded valleys to chocolate box towns and houses bedecked with flowers. Cruise the lakes; climb its peaks, by vintage cog and nostalgic steam, on this Austrian Alpine Special.

Day 1: Setting off for an Austrian adventure, make your way to Dover / Folkstone for your chosen Channel crossing. Dinner and overnight hotel en-route.
Day 2: Journey on into Austria, to your mainstay resort of Kirchberg, nestled in the heart of the Kitzbuhel Alps. You’ll be welcomed with the warmest Tyrolean hospitality with refreshments on arrival as you settle into your hotel base.
Day 3: Day at leisure to familiarise yourself with your new surroundings in the Alpine resort of Kirchberg. This Tyrolean delight is nestled in a lush green summer valley surrounded by peaks – a pure Alpine landscape.
Day 4: Morning ride on the Achensee Cog Railway, this steam rail ride takes you from Jenbach station up the pretty mountain to Achensee Lake, all onboard vintage carriages on Europe’s oldest coal-fired steam engines. Next enjoy the tranquillity of these Alpine waters with a lake cruise on Achensee where you will receive coffee and cake refreshments. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 5: Experience a lively steam rail mountain ride! Head up the beautiful Ziller Valley to Fügen where you will board a special steam train taking you to Mayrhofen, with live traditional music and a glass of schnapps in hand, the atmosphere is jubilant. Afterwards continue over the Gerlos Pass to see the spectacular Krimml Waterfalls.
Day 6: Another relaxing day at leisure for your customers to soak up the last of the alpine air at their own pace and pursue their own areas of interest. Alternatively, we could arrange a trip to Swarovski Crystal World (at supplement) in Wattens, a spectacular site both inside and out, with a sparkling interior and extensive grounds to discover.
Day 7: Time to bid farewell to the Austrian Tyrol now, as you depart your hotel after breakfast. Set off on your return journey with dinner and overnight hotel stay en-route.
Day 8: Depart hotel after breakfast. Continue to Calais for your return Channel crossing and onward journey home.
